“The Falcon and the Winter Soldier”: Explosive new trailer

Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes are back in a new trailer for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and they look very busy – including learning how to get along. The new series, due to be released on Disney + on March 19th, picks up where Avengers: Endgame left off.

Sam Wilson, also known as The Falcon (played by Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes, also known as The Winter Soldier (played by Sebastian Stan) team up on the new series. A lot has changed after Endgame and his epic battle against Thanos – including the disappearance of Captain America (via time travel) and the leaving of his shield that shows up in the trailer. Captain America: The Civil War villain Baron Zemo (played by Daniel Brühl) returns in the new series alongside Wyatt Russell as John Walker and Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter. Kari Skogland will direct the show, which will consist of six episodes.

The trailer gives a glimpse into some of the action we’ll see on the series, including a fight scene on semi-trailers and The Falcon getting out of a plane, but it also hints at an interesting character development between Wilson and Barnes. They don’t get along that well and it puts them in a counseling session that turns into rigid competition.

Stan is very familiar with The Winter Soldier: he first played the character in Captain America: The First Avenger in 2011 and has appeared in several sequels over the past decade. It’s no joke to play a character with a bionic arm, as we found out when talking to Stan’s trainer Don Saladino. For Stan, this meant a lot of kettlebell and work building his ability to move large weights (you can check out the full arm workout here).

“It all comes down to strength,” Saladino told Men’s Journal. “That’s what makes you move the right amount of weight.”

Now the time in the gym seems to have paid off. Check out the new trailer for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and search for the series on Disney + starting March 19th.
