Psaki said, “Well, as always, it’s a company and each platform choice. You made your decision. However, we continue to believe that any platform, be it Facebook, Twitter or any other platform that disseminates information to millions of Americans, has a responsibility to tackle disinformation, tackle false information. I think if we look at it we have learned a lot from President Trump, the former president, about his behavior and use of these platforms in the past few years. It seems pretty unlikely that the zebra will change its stripes in the next two years. We will see.”

The likelihood that Trump will change his behavior and act like a normal person is zero. Facebook is big on Trump’s fundraising, but the platform has already warned that it faces quick and escalating sanctions if he breaks the rules again.

Psaki is right. Trump will do what he always has, which means a return to Facebook is likely to be short-lived.
